PICEA GLAUCA Found mostly in the northern half of Wisconsin this broad dense pyramidal spruce becomes narrow to spire-like as it ages. The foliage ranges from light green to bluish-green. Prefers full sun and moist, well drained soil. White Spruce is one of the most environmentally tolerant spruces. Not usually found in wet areas like you would find the Black Spruce in, it can be found along side lakes and rivers. It withstands wind, heat, cold, drought and light shade. Used as a specimen, and in windbreaks.
