Another fireblight resistant pear that has some self-fertility that would benefit from other pears in the area for more of a crop. It is known to not be compatable with Bartlett for pollination if you happen to be growing that one. Seckel grows around here, but if you happen to be colder than us, I would pass. If you are good to go far as hardiness is concerned, then by all means give it a chance because this one is worth a try. Sweet and spicy are the 2 words I hear most often, as it is one of the more sweeter pears. AKA: Sugar Pear
