Acer saccharum 'Green Mountain' This cultivar has excellent heat tolerance, and performs well in dry, restricted sites. The thick, leathery dark green leaves are covered with a waxy coating, and show good scorch resistance. Green Mountain® retains its color in dry windy summer weather. It is those bright sunny days in July or August that go above 90 degrees and there has not been much rainfall that these trees, once established, will pull thru with ease.
