(McIntosh x Longfield) University of MN, 1943. A red blush mutation of Fireside apple. Similar to Fireside except that it has more intense red color. Hardy, heavy bearer. Large size. Excellent for eating or cooking. Distinctive flavor. Has been in a recipe for a winning cider. Fruit keeps well until April or May. Unsuitable pollinator for Fireside.
