PICEA GLAUCA DENSATA A variation of the White Spruce. More dense than the species. Needles are bluish-green. Prefers full sun but will tolerate light shade. Tolerant of many soil types. Small size and dense habit makes for a great specimen tree, or windbreak. Seed is sourced from the Black Hills in South Dakota. Black Hills has been the most popular spruce at our nursery for many, many years. We grow more Black Hills than any other spruce combined, though we are growing more and more Norway Spruce every year.
