(Malinda x Wealthy) Univ. of MN, 1936. A juicy bright red, 3" apple that is wonderful for eating. Flesh is mildly acid. Hardy, heavy bearing tree. Short storage life. Makes red to pink applesauce and Cider is pink too. Apple is fairly easy to grow for us here, Apple Scab resistant and does not appear to be much Apple Maggot Fly damage, perhaps due to the slighlty tougher skin. We do recommend this apple for backyard use because it is easy to grow.
